Akon (musician/band)

Akon is an 40 years old American record producer, hip hop recording artist, jazz musician, songwriter and an businessman. He born on 16 April 1973 in Missouri, United State of America.

Akon grew up in Senegal before he and his family returned to the United States and settled in New Jersey when he was seven. His full name is Aliaune Damala Akon Thiam but known as 'Akon'. His family attached to music and due to his he has an strong musical background, which also helps him a lot to prove himself as a good musician. His father was a drummer. He discovered hip hop and R & B music as well as crime. Akon was kicked out from snyder High School because he was always against the school regulation and after busted and gun and selling crime.

He was eventually jailed but he continued Later on he attend the Bayonne High School, hanging with an fighting gang also became popular for his bravery in fighting and was sent to jail for drug distribution and armed robbery. During his jail he started to write his own songs. And he became crazy in writing and singing songs, later on he recorded tracks in home studio. His first debut "Trouble" was released in June 2004. After that he also composed "Locked Up" which he written in that three years when he was in the jail. "Lonely" and "Mr. Lonely" was his best songs and the second one successfully topped the UK music charts in 2005. In the same year he gained more popularity in Jeezy's debut ," Let's Get It". Song 'Soul survivor' became a top five hit on the Billboard hot 100. In November 2006 he do his best effort in the album "Konvicted" and it raises his fame and considered as on of the prominent musician at that time. His other most famous song was his first single Smack That and this song won The Germany Music Awards. Akon released his single with a New Zeeland rapper which gained fame in both in Australia and New Zealand. He released his third album "Freedom" in the year 2008. Once in Akon's concert somebody in the crowed threw an object at the stage in his direction he asked the audience to point out that individual who did that and ordered the security to bring that audience on stage. He was an 15 years old boy, and was on the stage , Akon tossed him back into the crowed from his shoulders. Recently Akon converted to Islam and has many charities of his own and is a religious Muslim. He is very protective about his date of birth that's why have reported incorrect date of birth.

In September 2010 Akon release his single "Angel" to U.S radio station and gained fame. Recently Akon is working on his next coming Album which is expected to be release in 2013. Akon sign contract and worked with many artists in the whole world as Jayko , French DJ David Guetta, BoA, Pitbull, Colby O'Donis, Matisyahu, Vishall Shaker, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, Korean Girl-Group and JRandall etc..

Akon plans for movies and T.V shows. He also compose and recorded " Oh Africa" for the World Cup 2010 on demand of PePsi.
